SINUS SURGERY FROM A BOARD-CERTIFIED OTOLARYNGOLOGIST IN WESLEY CHAPEL, FL

ENT Specialists Serving Wesley Chapel, FL & Neighboring Areas

The latest breakthroughs in sinus surgery are available at Scotch Institute of Ear Nose & Throat in Wesley Chapel, Florida.

Our practice is led by Dr. Brett Scotch, a board-certified otolaryngologist with decades of experience helping patients overcome sinusitis and breathe easier.

Sinus surgery may be recommended to address sinusitis that does not respond to traditional treatments, such as antibiotics, nasal steroid sprays, and decongestants. It may also be performed if a patient’s sinusitis frequently reoccurs after being treated. While traditional forms of endoscopic sinus surgery may leave a patient with scarring and discomfort, Dr. Scotch offers a more practical and effective solution to his patients in Wesley Chapel, FL. He is among the first ENT doctors in the region to perform in-office balloon sinuplasty procedures with state-of-the-art 3D image guided technology.

Balloon Sinuplasty Procedure

Here is a brief overview of how this minimally invasive, outpatient sinus surgery works:

  • A very thin, deflated balloon of sorts is inserted into the inflamed sinus
  • The balloon is slowly inflated to create more room in the sinus cavity while maintaining its integrity
  • Saline is sprayed into the sinus to help flush out mucus and pus
  • Once the sinus is cleared, the system is gently removed

Balloon sinuplasty procedures involve minimal discomfort and almost no downtime. Patients are able to return to their everyday activities shortly after the procedure is completed.
